Activity

At most schools there are specific guidelines to follow when enrolling a student, including but not limited to an application, providing the institution catalog, reviewing, completing and collecting a student enrollment agreement, financial aid options/considerations, creating a new student folder, and knowing what to do with the folder when you have completed your part.

Working as an Admissions professional, its your responsibility to stay updated on any new rules and/or regulations. You should be very knowledgeable about your institutions team, marketing, policies in the catalog as well as any additional internal policies or procedures in order to provide timely and accurate information to any prospective students, while also evaluating them as a potential match for your institution.  Building and maintaining an Admissions Resource Notebook is the suggested way to collect, organize and reference all of the required information in one place. Admissions training is required annually.

Ive just learned that the Admissions representative training is required in the state of Florida to ensure that individuals working in this capacity are knowledgeable about relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards. This safeguards the interests of both prospective students and educational institutions.

Additionally, I've made a note on sections suggested for the Resource Notebook:

Terms and Definitions
Statutes and Rules
Information about your Institution:
Institution Catalog
Enrollment Agreement
Marketing Materials
Institutional Policies and Procedures Manuals
Organizational Chart
Accrediting Body Rules and Regulations
