Recognizing varying situations in which you need to adapt your lesson plans, teaching style and perhaps and content material. Being flexible and fun while maintaining professionalism is upmost important.
How important it is to understand where your students are coming from and what they want to achieve. Getting there- to be successful- is different for everyone. We need to recognize this and assist the students to be reach their goals.
How important it is to vary your lecture/demonstration so that students can effectively learn- we all know everyone learns differently. We have to find common ground for them to learn!
How important it is to introduce yourself as the instructor which sets the tone for the class. Also having the students introduce themselves to you and each other- breaks the ice and meet the others outside their "group".
By being prepared it sets the tone for a successful teaching and learning experience by all!
Be prepared, on time and ready to teach. Take an interest in your students. Let them know you care. Be enthusiastic about teaching and importance of learning. Remember we are human and make mistakes, just own up and admit to them and move on.
