When I am working with a student to identify the obstacle which is hendering him/her in achieving success in the classroom, I simply ask basic questions and listen to to his/her response. I listen completly and give full attention until the student has completed responding. I am "in the moment." I don't focus on a solution or work on a response while the student is speaking. Then, when the student is through I think about the answer he/she has given and then repeat back some of the points to ensure understanding. I have found that this part of a counseling… >>>
