This session really brought alot of great tools and ideas. We need to always be aware of others and discrimination, struggles, etc. We need to create safe spaces to discuss openly and freely, and be supportive of each others differences.
Negativity can spread like cancer. I always say, "Stop your STINKIN THINKIN". I enjoyed the reminder of the WANT TO, AND THE HAVE TO....Great reminder.
Making a positive impact from the initial point of contact is essential, but then the work is, to not lose that! Every day is a chance for each faculty member to engage , connect, and assist the student in a positive fashion.
Every person in every department has a responsibility to provide the student with excellent customer service and assist them with focusing on their vision. We all need to truly care about their success and assist them where we can to achieve that.
I think we owe it to our students to take the time, make the time, to truly get to know them, on an individual basis, so we can help facilitate positive behaviors, which could lead to their retention and success.
I enjoyed how the training provided scenarios. I think this is a great way to review the many different challenges that leadership faces and how to best overcome challenges and obstacles, while also achieving goals, and keeping team motivated and aligned.
