I think the importance of connecting the "why" to students, especially in terms of flipped classroom is important and helps them reap more of the benefits from exercises like this.

I think reflection is especially important for learning. While there are some opportunities for that built into the course I am teaching, I would like to continue to encourage reflection more regularly with my students.

I think JiTT can allow for more efficient use of F2F class-time.

When considering doing a flipped classroom, I hadn't thought about all of the potential approaches, but after learning about PBL, GBL, and IBL, I have some practical options to help me implement some of this material into my classroom.

I really enjoyed the section about motivating instructors, as some of the most influential teachers I had inspired me to become a teacher. I think possessing empathy and being able to give clarity (examples and illustrations) are especially important in this role, as well as communicating enthusiasm for the subject.

I think the refocus tool might be helpful for many instructors, myself included. It is easy to lose the excitment and appeal of the course halfway through, but finding ways to keep it exciting can motivate myself and my students.

I think the human factor is really important for student rentention, especially with some of these Zoom classes. It is important to show that you care about the students and the course curriculum.

I have learned the importance of connecting the students' own experiences and life goals to the course.
