About me

I've been a career educator for over 20 years. I currently serve as the Academic Coordinator for Brookstone College of Business and continue to be active in the classroom as a Business Instructor. My motto is "A student doesn't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." I was honored to receive the Career College Association National Teacher of the Year award in 2001. I just love teaching!

Activity

Hi Jeffrey, You do a fabulous job guiding your students. We have to let our students know we are there for them if they fall. Patricia Scales
Hi Mitchell, An out of control class creates a big mess. The instructor must be able to control the class and produce and environment for effective learning to take place. Patricia Scales
Hi Lynn, Lesson plans keep you on point and avoid time being wasted. Planning is very important. Patricia Scales
Hi Christopher, I have witnessed SENIORITIS(becoming laxed once students get closer to graduating). As instructors we have to help keep them focused until the end. Patricia Scales
Hi Paul, You are on point! Guest speakers can really validate what we have been teaching our students. Students love hearing from other professionals other than us all the time. Patricia Scales
Hi Michael, All students love to be paid attention to. Some students need more attention than others, and I always make it a point to get to class early or stay late to chit chat with my students who need more attention. Patricia Scales
Hi Robert, I love it! When you mind these two businesses, things can be a lot less stressful. Patricia Scales
Hi Deborah, Students tend to grasp better when they are shown an example. Patricia Scales
Hi Gary, It sounds like you do a fine job with making course requirements clear. I really like how you share with your students that they can certainly follow up with you later with questions. Students like knowing we are there for them, if they need us. Patricia Scales
Hi Christine, It is always a plus when the instructor is excited about the subject. The instructor sets the tone for the class. When the instructor is excited it is a lot easier to get the students excited. Patricia Scales
