About me

I've been a career educator for over 20 years. I currently serve as the Academic Coordinator for Brookstone College of Business and continue to be active in the classroom as a Business Instructor. My motto is "A student doesn't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." I was honored to receive the Career College Association National Teacher of the Year award in 2001. I just love teaching!

Hi Ronald, It does sound exciting! Great way to get the students to buy in to the course. You got me thinking with the question you asked. Students love it when we apply learning to the real world. Patricia Scales
Hi James, Great way to review with students as well. Patricia Scales
Hi Carmella, You got the students involved/excited and then you did the dreaded part...smart move. Patricia Scales
Hi Jaquana, Our students will amaze you with their delivery skills. Peer teaching is very effective; students really can/do learn a lot from each other. Patricia Scales
Hi Thomas, Our students need guidance and facilitation. Patricia Scales
Hi Nicole, No one knows it all. I have been teaching for more than 24 years, and I too sometimes do not know the answer and will have to find the answer and get back with students with the response. Students respect us more if we are honest and follow through. Patricia Scales
Hi Randall, Great way to get students to see the big picture. It is great when you can relate students concerns to the real world. Patricia Scales
Hi Lisa, Students love it when we share our experiences/stories as they pertain to the lesson. Students really love visuals as well. Patricia Scales
Hi Ivan, When students feel like the work has value, they take more interest in the work. They understand the benefit. Patricia Scales
