About me

I've been a career educator for over 20 years. I currently serve as the Academic Coordinator for Brookstone College of Business and continue to be active in the classroom as a Business Instructor. My motto is "A student doesn't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." I was honored to receive the Career College Association National Teacher of the Year award in 2001. I just love teaching!

Hi Devin, Wow, you do things exactly as I do them. You are on point! Your students can not use the excuse they did not know. You make your requirements very clear. Patricia Scales
Hi William, I can see how this exercise promotes critical thinking. It is amazing what students can come up with on the PowerPoint presentation. Patricia Scales
Hi Sharika, I concur! It is okay to be friendly to students, you definitely do not need to be their friend. Patricia Scales
Hi Tamekki, Students really do look up to instructors, therefore we must lead by example and be the professional that we want our students to become. Patricia Scales
Hi Angela, Guest spkears are priceless. They add a breath of fresh air to the class. You have a great story to share with your students to keep them/get them motivated. You gained your education later in life. Patricia Scales
Hi Danny, Great way to capture students attention. Students can relate when we make a connection of the material to the real world. Patricia Scales
Hi Mahmood, Awesome! I like to make known to the students how the course is going to benefit them in their career. Patricia Scales
Hi Aretha, Math is a tough subject to get students excited about. I like the approach that you take with your students to make learning fun for them. There are so many students that are afraid of math. They do not look forward to taking the course at all. Patricia Scales
Hi Suwaid, You have some great ways to show course relevancy! Students need to know how the course is going to help them professionally or personally. Patricia Scales
Hi Linda, I love your creativity and the extra length you go to in order to add excitement for your students. The instructor has to be creative in order to generate excitement. I am sure with the creative ways of teaching that you use in your classroom your students retain the information. Kudos! Patricia Scales
