About me

I've been a career educator for over 20 years. I currently serve as the Academic Coordinator for Brookstone College of Business and continue to be active in the classroom as a Business Instructor. My motto is "A student doesn't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." I was honored to receive the Career College Association National Teacher of the Year award in 2001. I just love teaching!

Hi Marie, I can tell you care about your students, and you want to get to know your students. Students love knowing that the instructor cares. Yes, it is vitally important to treat all students the same. Favoritism is definitely frowned upon. Patricia Scales
Hi Stormy, Students enjoy hearing about one's success that sat in the same seat they are sitting in. Graduate guest speakers are the absolute best. Patricia Scales
Hi Laura, Wow! What a great hands-on exercise for your student to learn from. I am sure your students get it, and they enjoy this hands-on activity. Super way to generate excitement and buy in from your students. Patricia Scales
Hi Kris, Nice break from the norm. Students like having another teaching aid other than just plain old lecture. Students enjoy field trips, guest speakers, simulations, scenarios, case studies, hands-on activities, etc. Patricia Scales
