About me

I've been a career educator for over 20 years. I currently serve as the Academic Coordinator for Brookstone College of Business and continue to be active in the classroom as a Business Instructor. My motto is "A student doesn't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." I was honored to receive the Career College Association National Teacher of the Year award in 2001. I just love teaching!

Hi Crystal, Students enjoy hearing our stories as to how they apply to the real world. Students really want to and need to know how it really is in the real world. Patricia Scales
Hi Rose Anne, You do a fine job with ensuring your students get what they need in order to be successful. You go the extra mile to set your students up for success. Great clarity is added from the way you do things. Patricia Scales
Hi David, You go the extra mile for your stuents. They should be very appreciative! PowerPoint slides have really served as a great way for students to follow along and get a condensed version of the chapter. Patricia Scales
Hi Lisa, Guest speakers serve as a great resource for our students. They are very inspiring and motivating. Guests speakers make book theory come to life. Patricia Scales
Hi Daniel, I love your perspective! You can really teach others a lot about professionalism. I can tell you practice what you preach. We need more serious educators like yourself. I would love to pick your brain. I have been teaching for more than 25 years, but there is always something to learn. Patricia Scales
Hi Terrie, I agree! I do not care how effective of an instructor you are, there is always room for improvement. Continue to work on pefecting the art of teaching. I have been teaching for more than 25 years, and I am still trying to become better. There is always room for growth. Patricia Scales
Hi Jeffrey, This type of information is very motivating to students. When they know that the instructor has walked in their shoes and came out successful. It lets the students know that they too can do it! Patricia Scales
Hi Christine, Students tend to do well with group work. Remember 4 brains are better than 1 brain. It is amazing the work quality students produce when they give their very best as a team. Patricia Scales
Hi Laura, Absolutely! I expect nothing but the best from my students, and everyday I walk into my classes I give my students my very best. We really get from students what we expect. Patricia Scales
