I believe the on-site supervisor plays a pivotal role in whether the student has a successful internship experience. It is up to the supervisor to move the student along to the differenct roles and experiences.

Internships can help students evaluate whether they really want to pursue that particular industry. Some students might have a different expectation from reality.

We could try to develop more service learning opportunties. They are a win-win for students, school, and community in that they could provide authentic work experiences for students to use on resumes plus improves our community public relations. Not only does it give back to community in need, it could also help to keep our name out there for recruitment purposes.

We do a fair deal of alumni recognition but could benefit from creating an alumni Hall of Fame, not only would it be a nice way to recognize alumni but it would also be a means to show current students that they are valued and show examples of successes that can be achieved for themselves.

Everyone must understand their roles and responsibilities to be a ble to work together for the success of the students.
