knowing my students names and their background helps me understand why they are there and what they need from me to be successful. 

having adult learners bring their real life experiences to disucussions is important. 

understanding that not all information is retained, and how to get the students to retain the most. also using different teaching methods to keep them engaged and learning. 

ice breaker activities. introducing myself and having the students introduce themselves

solid objectives and goals are key to helping everyone on task.

As a leader not to think you are the smartest but to love what you teach and know it well enough.  Also leading by example and maintaing professionalism.
