I love ice breakers at the beginning of the first class.  During the first class, I spend time reviewing my policy, school policies, and requirement for the class.  I give the class opportunities to ask question or talk about barriers with the expectations.

I did not realize that you had to even protect student ppt.  I knew that you could not put it on U-tube or social media, but if you wanted to use it as a example project you could not.

Employee should  be trained on proper handling of student record and what is approved for either viewing or copies.  This should be annually with changes that could occur

It is important to understand what information can be released regarding student record to ensure that compliance and privacy is maintained.

It is important to understand what falls under FERPA with regard to education records.  I also found it interesting that advisor or instructor notes that are personnel and never shared with the institution is not part of the educational record

Faculty and students should understand by education on any kind of sexual harassment or violence, rape, or assault by anyone even if the perpetrator is a friend or stranger whether on campus or off.

The school MUST investigate any compliant that comes forward.  All policies must be looked at and refined at all times.

The Title IX coordinator has the role of providing training to student and staff and ensuring confidentiality when a report is made.

Title IX provides an understanding, support, and legal reporting for anyone that is discriminated against based on sex, gender, ethnicity, and nationality.

I think that this is very important to understand to ensure that this is not happening in the workplace or school.  If this should occur, a person should understand that reporting is necessary if an allegation is made and for the allegation to be investigated promptly.

I learned that it is important to motivate student in the learning process.  Students are interested in your expertise and how much you know about the topic.  It is important that you clarify information rather than talking over there head with no explaination.
