I agree completely.  Overall, the course was not bad and actually somewhat helpful and answered some of the questions that I had been tossing around.  I like the fact that you can go at your own pace.  I also agree about the "Harvard guys" -   I particularly liked Professor DeLong's presentations - he seems to teach with somewhat of a dramatic flair, seems like it would be fun to sit in on his classes.

"Prompt'" sorry.

I definitely agree with the "promt feedback" approach.  Being an "instant gratification" sort of person myself, I can understand the student's need to know how well they performed on a certain challenge or test.  It also gives you the opportunity to discuss questions while they are still fresh in their minds.

Very true!  I start teaching my first A&P class next week and will most definitely be incorporating some of the ideas that were mentioned in the course.  I think they will go a long way to making a very dry subject much more palatable!  For the teacher as well as the students...

I will be starting my new class soon. I can't wait to try some of these different techniques to see if it perks things up a little. I think the competition parts will wake up their brains a little, while the physical parts such as throwing a ball or walking around will keep their bodies active as well. I'm looking forward to Jeopardy and maybe the Ball Toss. I've had my eye on one of those cool, spiny, squishy Koosh Balls for a while - now I finally have a reason to buy one without my 15 year old daughter… >>>
