Grace, It is easy to have a spelling error and not catch it while reviewing. A second pair of eyes to do quality control is nice to have as well. Shelly Crider
Laurie, I am glad you mentioned resources! When we add resources, students feel like they are receiving something extra! Shelly Crider
Peter, You can have a timed test as well. This still allows for open book, but knowing that you will not get throught the test by looking each question up will help students rely on their own knowledge. Shelly Crider
Eugenia, I feel most schools have a bigger issue with plagiarism than cheating. So many students do not realize they must cite their work or how to cite. Others will comment as well. Shelly Crider
Camesha, Most of us do love visual information! Shelly Crider
Patricia, We have a higher pecentage of visual learners. I am glad use use the audio feature of ppt. Shelly Crider
Jeannette, Communication is certainly what makes the world go round! With the ability to work with peers in different parts of the world via Internet, communication is once again at the top of the must have list! Shelly Crider
Mary, Excellent post. We all love resources and being able to share with our students is excellent! Shelly Crider
Stephanie, check out these links.... This one is a flipped classroom certification course through SOPHIA: http://www.sophia.org/flipped-classroom/?cid=emailSOE08.30.12 This is for a live webinar from instructors who are using the flipped classroom: http://sophialearning.eventbrite.com/ Shelly Crider
Jane, The bottom line is comfort for our students. They need to be able to absorb the information given to them. There are some classes that a lot of info is given to the student in a short amount of time. Shelly Crider
