Yes, Ken, you describe the environment well. I particularly like your mention of adequate time to think, follow through, and learn. What successes have you noticed specifically with your students in this regard?
Yes, it does, Marvin, provided the instruction is well planned and the assignments well assessed. What do you see as the most important challenges for instructors when supporting and facilitating this kind of student research?
Discussion Comment
This is true, Marvin, however, students are challenged differently when provided with flexible options. What do you think some of these might be?
I like you example here, Steve, of reusing helpful learning moments. What do you see are the main challenges of this approach?
Why do you think that is the case, Marvin? How does learner autonomy fit into the scenario you describe here?
Discussion Comment
It can also help with distributing learning moments, Marvin. How do you think this would help teachers/instructors understand more about flexible delivery?
Discussion Comment
Yes, copyright issues are critical and often instructors do not take the necessary precautions with Internet resources and material. Do you think this is something that could help students learn to be more intentional about sources and referencing adequately?
So, Tom, what examples would you say are constructive uses of social networking tools in your course(s)?
Good points, Thomas. How has the way in which information is presented changed your own teaching methods?
So the approach is much more integrated and technology-rich, Tim. In all it will be an holistic experience for the students so long as the teaching methods have also changed for the instructor. What specifically do you think would have to change from the more conventional methods to these you describe?
