Acknowledging when a student is struggling early and helping them utilize resources that are available to them, being available for them whenever they need help, also connecting with students are all vital in retention
I intend to connect with my students and building a trust that goes both ways and making it known I have an open door policy for all students and staff.
Supporting your students not only on a profession level but also a personal level is as important as teaching your students. Notice early signs of changes in their demeanor and/or attitude and try to connect with them 1 on 1
Everyone is responsible for retention, engaging with students along their journey can help increase retention.
