The importance of rubric for evaluations that are used in all classes, will set up the students to really understand what we are looking for to grade their assessments. 

When doing lesson plans, add time and space for activities that would lead to discussions.  Not wait till the end of class to ask "does anybody have any questions?"  

By assessing the learning style of your new students, it gives the instructor the opportunity to learn how to teach differently depending on the students.
