Activity

Although I teach online and students can't see my body posture, I know that influences my behavior.  I may transition to standing during part of my lectures to embrace the authorative stance discussed in the lesson.

As facilitors, we have to manage the social and cognitive process of learning which is more challenging than delivering information. Ways that this shift can occur in the classroom is to use low-stakes formative assessments like non-graded polls or collaborative whiteboards to facilitate peer-to-peer learning and to practice the pregnant pause during listening.
