Your attitude affects more than just yourself. It can improve your co-workers attitudes and the students' attitudes. 

Collaboration is key and we need to encourage and engage everyone. 

Communication preferences vary by generation and we need to be flexible in our communication methods

I learned that generations are not necessarily determined by birth year and that people may fall into multiple buckets. 

This section was helpful to learn of the different exceptions within FERPA, such as HIPAA, Soloman Amendment, Patriot Act, Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and SEVIS

This section was helpful to define the student lifecycle and how FERPA applies to those situations. 

This section was very helpful in reminding us the importance of student privacy and why those policies were put in place. 

My main takeaway is the importance of keeping detailed records and keeping them safe and protected. Attention to detail makes all the difference and FERPA ensures we are diligent. 

By building relationships you develop more buy-in and also increase the chance for referrals. 

Adding value is what connects the attributes to the goals of the student.
