The Solomon Amendment is a federal law that allows military staff to access information from the school of students 17 or older.

Staff that is also a student should not be using their role as an employee to access their student records. They should follow the school policies and procedures as required. 

If multiple records were shared/viewed during an audit the school must document each shared record that it was selected during the audit.

FERPA applies to any educational agency or institution that funds have been made available under that program administrate by the DOE.
