I realized that I have already been sharing my ideas and strategies of reducing stress with my students when I meet with them related to theiir grades. I share how to organize their calendar so that it works for them and reduces stress.

The biggest stressor is the balance between work and family, as my husband wants me available to the children and it makes me feel torn sometimes between re4sponsibilities and guilty for slighting one over the other.

I have learned that it is important to make the most of your time by being proactive. Keeping yourself ahead and also setting boundries such as with when to answer emails, etc. really helps.

I realized that I already make good prioritized lists of my tasks. I just need to get better at not thinking that everything has to be completed in one day. I need to be happy with what was accomplished on that day and leave the rest of the tasks for the days they are assigned.

Good course...exactly what I needed to hear. I need to be more confident in my apporach inidicually with the student exhibiting negative/disruptive classroom behaviors, instead of putting it on the whole group of students.

I have learned that I need to be more confident about reprimanding privately. I tend to generalize the negative classroom behavior as a group offence, when I need to begin to specficially speak with students causing the negative behaviors promptly and privately. I think my classroom would run more smoothly with that. Also, I feel like I am in between a guide and buddy...just a mix.

This module has been great. It is easy to listen and learn from, and has provided not only assurance of some of the things I am already doing for my students, but has enlightened me on great resources for improvement with student engagement and learning, especially in this online environment. I have been reminded of how important it is for students to have the "real time" effect of communication when learning online. They can sometimes feel like they are being slighted, by not being able to be in the classroom. My courses are synchronous online, however, I have learned that… >>>

I have learned that it is extremely important to be cognizant of the use of technology and the FERPA rules/regulations.Teaching in a hybrid environment, it can be easy to forget that privacy is still a concern and must be protected for my students. My awareness related to this issue has been heightened as a result of completing these modules. It will better direct my practice as an instructor.

It is interesting to read that employees that also are students at an instution, should not access their educaitonal record while at work as an employee. In the healthcare industry, this is the same policy, as nurses shouldn't be looking up their lab/diagnostic results online while at work.

This module was interesting. The biggest thing I learned that I thought was directly related to me as an instructor, is that if a student opts out of releasing directory information, the institution would have to have the student authorize the use of his/her name is such things as discussion boards or chats. I inever thought about this before. I have to say that I do remember that when completing my undergraduate degree, our grades were usually posted outside of our faculty's office with our student numbers used instead of our names. I do realize now, that this was technically… >>>
