It is important to share who you are and what you bring to the students so they will feel comfortable doing the same throughout the course. Communication is the main way to promote positive student outcomes. The instructor should blaze the trail from day one to set expectations. 

The tighter your format and the availability of the resources and the instructor are key to student success.
