Activity

I have learned that demonstrating my expertise if done properly will give my students a sense of a goal that they can learn this.

although it can be easy to get bogged down in the material it is important to gauge breaks in the lectures off of the students and their ability to focus

utilizing multiple ways of connecting with and motivating students will be the best path for retention

the better I understand the students "why" for being there the better I will be able to effectively reach them as an instructor.

self-evaluation is a critical part of developing as an instructor, and should be done often.

It is important to create a sense of one - on - one connection with each student and empower them to feel like successfully completing the course is within their reach.

creating a course syllabus that will cover lectures, projects, homework, reviews/tests, will better help the student prepare and manage their time in my class

I have realized that I need to have a professional development plan for myself, not just an academic development plan, that the more I learn about how to teach professionally the more my students will benefit from it.
