Student participation is a way of knowin if your students are learning the material. I pay close attention to those that don't participate. 

Building relationships with students is important to show that you care and that you have their best interest in mind. 

Familiarize yourself with the platform so that student feel secure about their lerning. 

Having students leave the classroom with a sense of secureness and feeling as if their time was well vested is the best feeling. 

Planning and preparation will provide a safe and consistent learning environment for your students. Students learn best when they know what to expect from the instructor. An unorganized environment can create a lot of confusion and demotivation for students. 

Biggest take away is to realize the huge impact you have on student behavior as an instructor. Being a good role model in the classroom can eliminate a lot of negative situations if you simply act adn behave as you would expect your students to do so.
