Activity

I learned the different types of learning disabilities and how to assess them in the classroom.

I learned that students with disabilities tend to not have motivation and face many challenges.

Setting learning goals will be able to help students not only in their CTE class but in their future job as well.

It is important for students to be able to have control over their own learning goals.

I took away how to keep students accountable for their goals, understand their learning goals, and maintain full insight of their goals.

I learned that having students set learning goals can improve their learning skills.

I learned that teaching literacy takes the following steps: Make best use of the Internet.
Determine the information needed to solve a problem, and locate and extract that information from the best sources.
Organize and present information in the appropriate fashion (e.g., Word document or slide show).
Manage files and folders, including file-naming conventions and extensions.
Use word processing, presentation applications, and spreadsheets.
Use email, including sending attachments.
Navigate folders and directories.
Recognize and avoid security threats such as viruses, hoaxes, and spam.
Troubleshoot common computer and printer problems.
Recognize the social, cultural, economic, and ethical effects of the Internet.

Making sure students know how to manage their education along with personal and work life.

Having students do presentations and make presentations could enhance students communication skills. I will have students' make and present their projects to classmates or the  entire class.

It is important for all teachers across the curriculum to incorporate writing in some sort of way. Writing is one of the most struggled with abilities for students. I will incorporate writing into my classroom by having them do typing, warm-ups in complete sentences, and maybe have students do some sort of current events papers.
