I am a clinic instructor who is taking online classes so I may teach online in the future. These classes help me as a student and an instructor. I have been able to discuss these issues with my insturctors. I'm looking forward to continueing and learning to teach online.

Where did you find the vitual biology lab?

I find that explaining to the students WIIFM about learning the technology they need can lead to them to expend more energy on the learning. I feel I may want to take more classes on graphics to develop interesting digital images. Does anyone have suggestions for graphics?

We have teacher education training with video conferences. The problems are the quality and the technology. It seems there needs to be more work on these issues.

I see adding YouTubes and other videos into the PPT help with lecturing. I've sat in some classes where the PPT is extensive and boring. The students start to have side conversations.

Nowdays students grow up learning with technology and expect it. It's up to us to provide interesting ways to use all the tools available.

The students just got e-books and started to get electronic quizzes. They like the quizes and are just getting used to the e-books.

Getting to know the student and their background and knowledge helps to build relationships and to design online classroom activity to fit the SLOs. SLOs can be taylored for different learning styles to make learning fun and interactive. Good communication is important on many different platforms specific to those types of communication. Teacher knowledge and continued involvement in the learning process promotes successful learning.
