About me

Activity

Hi Gary, I have tried role plays with my students too. These activities work well with a average or a big size class. As with my course the class sizes are small so i have to come up with activities that would work witha small number of students.
I strongly believe that all the students have potential to do better in their education and career . The only thing is that some understand one style better that the other while others might need a little more time to get to the same material and may be a little more explanation. And by using different modes I try to help all of them .
Thank you Gary, I specially deal with small groups . So I need to include activities that involve 2-3 students in a group. I have tried using flash cards, wordsearches etc. But i dont seen to get any activity that I can do with a small class as a whole.
Gary, I agree . With respect to my field , I have to use lecture as one of the modes of instruction. But at the same time I find that students learn better and also enjoy the course when given different ways of instruction .
what different and innovative methods can we use that will also allow us to follow the course rules and meet its objectives?
During an instruction how many styles can be merged together to get the students a better understanding of the course? Usually 2-3 styles are normally merged including lecture, powerpoint and diagrams.
Thanks Niecy. I agree to your suggestion. But sometimes when you have a small group of students, pairing in duo's or trios might help. Creating one big group sometimes does not solve the purpose of the activity.
I have used the activity in class and it energizes the students. Everyone wants to participate. It is very useful in the middle of the afternoon when everyone is feeling a little tired from lunch.
Thank you Michele. I have actually tried Jeopardy at times and it has been fun. I think next time I can try working with wheel of fortune as well. I am pretty sure they will like it.
Thank you! can you suggest any good activities that have been successful with a small group in the past.
