Emotional intelligence is important. I think that it's important to apply empathy in order to meet students where they are. 

What was interesting was the emphasis on common sense. I think that training to develop more "common sense" is needed especially around diversity and accessibility. Those 2 areas are not always intuitive and require intentionality and further training. 

The breakdown of the different soft skills was helpful. What I learned from this module is the importance of creating a supportive and engaging learning environment. Applying them in the classroom setting requires intentionality.
