As of late, I've been studying the principles of UDL (Universal Design for Learning), and the content here reinforces for me that we need to vary how information is provided to our students and how they are allowed to show what they've learned in various ways.
This section affirms for me the importance of a well-planned and thoughtful first day of class. The first interaction with one's students sets the stage for the semester, creating community and giving students a clear understanding of what to expect from the course.
This section reinforced for me the need for a clear syllabus document that outline all the crucial information students will need to succeed in our courses.
For me, the biggest lesson here is about lifelong learning, and always having goals to improve how we manage the classroom, interactions and feedback for our students.
