We use the standardized tests that come with our books in our curriculum. I always make sure that I cover the material in our books that is going to be on the test. I will say, make sure you highlight this area, in some cases so they know what to study. Sometimes I will write my own tests if I don't like the questions in the standardized test.

I am happy to have taken this class as I am new to teaching as well and I have been questioning my teaching skils.  In taking this course I now know that I am definitely on the right track and have gotten some new ideas as well!

When you have a student who was in special ed, and they are barely hitting the mark, yet this is their dream profession, should you keep encourage them to keep going and take their money, knowing they may never succeed in the business? I also feel I would be killing her dream. I could keep trying and tutoring her and encouraging her, but I don't think she can even pass state boards. Is this fair?
I have learned much about all of the rules and regulations and changes in the laws and that there are reasons why the school operates in certain ways. I didn't realize some of this was law! I can use this knowledge in the way I talk to my students! I have more knowledge now in the things I discuss with them!

I actually would have to say I learned alot in this section. I have heard many things since I have started instructing and didn't know why things were run the way they were. After reading this section, I now understand so much more about why things are being done in certain ways!
So as an instructor, is it wrong for me to talk about our programs with someone I meet that might be interested in what we offer? I would think I could tell them about our school and send them in to talk to someone in admissions right?
