I think that incorporating PBL Problem Based Learning will allow students to think about a topic in their own way and allow for the material to be seen from a different perspective.  This will spur discussion among student and even differing points of view, which could unlock a previously unseen solution.

Utilizing rubrics ensures that both the student and the instructor are clear on expectations for the course and any questions can be directed back to the rubric.  Students can complete the course in a better way when the expectations are communicated fully and clearly.  Communication in learning is just as important as any other part of life.

In this section I learned that ensuring the technology works properly can make the active online learning more successful.  When technology fails, it can detract from or derail the lesson completely.  You should always plan to test the technology you will be utilizing ahead of time.

I have learned in this section to make sure and add active learning as a way to engage the online students to be more involved and active in their own learning journey.  I don't just teach by being in front of the class, but by asking the student questions and providing games and quizzes to ensure they are retaining the material.  I also learned that taking regular breaks can help in the learning process.

I have learned that what we are doing is already trending in the right direction with our most active and engaged students for sure and the next tier as well that are also engaging, but may not be understanding everything that is being taught.  I have determined there is a real need to engage the students who are logging on and walking away.  This means they are not getting any of the online instruction that they need.  It can be hard to determine exactly who is engaged an who is not.  Some students also decide that during lecture is the… >>>
