Job analysis is integral in developing a job description that align to the need of the business unit/department. It is important to use observations and interviews in crafting the role description within the department.

It is crucial for student’s success to have a deliberate process in assigning a faculty on course. The course clearly outlines the importance of faculty education, certifications, and industry experience in assigning a course.

The course provides a substantive information that focus on monitoring compliance of instructional practices that will promote effective feedback and performance. It is evident in the course that importance of varied evaluation feedback practices such as 30 day evaluation for new hire, quarterly course evaluations, and annual evaluation.

It is significantly important to ensure that state and accreditation requirements are followed when hiring a new faculty. It is also important to provide a phased approach, asynchronous and synchronous, in training new faculty. This provides a comprehensive understanding of the complexities of online instruction.

I have learned the importance of utilizing adjunct faculty members to provide current industry standards that can enhance curriculum instruction and development. As a faculty manager, it is important to hire faculty members based on institutional need, educational preparation and experience.

I believe both managerial skills and leadership skills are necessary to be successful. I see the management component of my role as more transactional and the leadership aspect is more transformational. I tend to lead or manage based on situation.
