We are all human and can  easily make a mistake. That is why it is important to be familiar with all regulations on a federal and state level.

It seems like it is much easier to cause a violation than we might think! It is important to understand the regulations and policies to ensure we do not jeopardize a student, the institution, or ourselves.

I have a newfound respect for marketing and admissions teams. It must be difficult to advertise to students and provide them with convincing information without sharing misleading details. we must always be aware of what we are saying and how we say it.

There are significant repercussions for misrepresenting an institution and its intentions. Simply answering a student's question could potentially be misleading. For example, stating that a certain institution has the best facilities is too specific in stating that it is the best. This leads the student to believe they will not find any other suitable institution.

Regardless of the environment, students that disrupt learning, procrastinate and are upset can coexist with students who are highly motivated, independent, critical thinkers, and actively involved in the class. It is important for instructors to recognize each student and their habits in order to ensure each student is maximizing their opportunity to learn in the classroom without taking away from others' experiences.

The route of communication is important when considering how the student should be approached about a topic or potential feedback on an assignment. An instructor needs to gauge what route is most appropriate to communicate with a student and how their information can be best received.

Relating to students is important because it reminds them that they are in a class working with other humans and not just technology. I can relate to my students and establish authority simultaneously by providing a short biography of myself. I think posting a video format of this is effective because the students can see my face, hear my voice, notice my nonverbal body language, and recognize me as a person rather than a picture on a screen.

Course delivery encompasses much more than the teaching style of the instructor. It depends on the environment of the course, the learning material presented to students, and the means of communication between the class and the instructor. There are many elements that contribute to the overall success of the course and how well it is received.

A variety of perspectives is necessary to gain an understanding of the course's efficacy from the inside out. As the instructor, we understand the intention of what is included in a course and for what purpose. However, the message may not deliver as we intended. The students and outside perspectives allow us to make improvements we may not have seen before.

Feedback must be personal and specific to make an impact on the student's learning. Giving specific examples from the student's work in each rubric section allows the student to recognize not only why they received a certain grade, but what actions they can take to improve.
