Closing the loop is important because it uses assessment and feedback to improve course design and student learning outcomes.

Summative assessments are used to evaluate overall learning and show whether students have met the course objectives, while formative assessments are used throughout the course to check understanding and guide improvement.

I can see how important it is to connect course content to students’ actual day jobs so it feels more relevant and practical. Encouraging them to share real examples from their work can also help build a stronger learning community and make the material more meaningful.

Chunking helps tie content back to the learning objectives by breaking things into smaller pieces that are easier for students to follow. Each chunk can connect to a specific objective, so students can see how everything builds toward the bigger goal.

This module showed me that different student behaviors need different approaches. Quiet students might need a quick personal message to get them involved, while procrastinators need reminders and clear expectations to stay on track.

I used to think asynchronous discussions were a bit strange and very different, but I can see now that they allow for deeper conversations instead of the more linear, one-sided lecture style I was used to.

This module showed me how important it is to be visible and engaged in an online course. Simple things like participating in discussions, responding quickly, and reaching out to students can make a big difference. I plan to stay more active and consistent so students feel supported.

One thing that stood out to me from this module is how important it is to keep a course clear and easy to follow so students don’t get frustrated. I've used seen in the past other courses that were all buried and nest in ways that were hard to find information. I plan to focus on organizing my course better and staying more active with students throughout the term.
