Activity

As this is my very first teaching position in an academic setting, I admit I am a little nervous. I have taught classes in the healthcare and community settings but this is a little different for me. I have a tendency to speak fast when I am nervous. I will video tape myself and see how it goes. I really learned a lot regarding various teaching methods. One thing I do have down is no more than 4-5 points at a time.

I've learned that online courses should be set up in a manner which is easiest for students to navigate. If online courses are set up properly, students will not have to filter through information that is not useful to them.

This information is very useful in how to deal with center-stage students, keep them engaged, while allowing opportunity for the rest of the class to participate.

From this lesson, I've learned that each student is unique and I must work with them to help them reach their desired goals in the course.
