Learned that more smaller items on the to-do list are better than just a couple large items that really require a bunch of time instead break the list down to each task and make sure you allot more time then you think it will actually take. Then just chip away at your list item by item and it will keep you from missing anything.

No matter how much you prepare there is still a chance you will make a mistake, it happens reflect on it after class and get back after it with a small tweak and over time you will get a well running plan.

Keeping a close eye on your entire class is key. always be doing your 20 second room scans and if you have a student acting out or cheating get to figuring out why the student is doing that by talking to them before class starts the next morning.

Gained some useful tips and tricks to deal with students who are loosing interest in class. Keep the class rolling break into small groups and then come together to share each groups results on if they completed the task or not. And if not figure out if it was bad instruction or just a hard task.

Provide the class with a clear lay of the land so they know what is expected of the course. Also if you set a deadline do not bend it and stick to your rules.

Do not feel bad if you find the groups all messing up the demo at the same spot instead pull the class together go into some more detail and then let them all try again on there own.

I gathered that you want to set the tone and pace of the class quickly. Make sure the class is not nervous about how there new instructor will be set a calm tone that easy to soak up.

Early bird gets the checklist it sounds like. Making sure you give yourself plenty of time to get there in the mornings and ease into the start of your day compared to flying into the class room and throwing your jacket down and getting right into it does not seem to work well with the students.

Figuring out your "style" of teaching is a very interesting point and got my brain thinking on ways to provide the information in a creative way but still getting the point across to the students. Also the attention to detail about the instructor themselves was a very good point to think about.
