I was surprised by how many official-ish rules there are for advisory boards. I didn't actually understand that the state of Massachusetts has its own minimum requirements for them.
Otherwise most of what is said here feels intuitive, although I do appreciate the idea of offering plaques and other tokens of appreciation to our board members. It is interesting that we are not allowed to pay advisory boards, because honestly it would have never crossed my mind to do so. We just don't have the budget.
