  1. Noisy Student- send email to student advising the student to stay on existing thread till it is exhausted.
  2. Quiet Student- Engage with a personal email, try to set a student in a small group.
  3. Disruptive student- Review institution code of conduct with student and take appropriate action.
  4. Intimidating Student- Direct student attention to grading policy
  5. Procrastinating Student- Remind student of policies and procedures of on time assignments

Students have different styles the top 3 include

  1. Avoidant- these are students not interested in the content being taught
  2. Competitive- students that try to outperform other students
  3. Dependent- students that only complete the required activities or work.

By providing information about you as an instructor you may gain the trust and respect from the students. By sharing who you are and your expertise you are allowing the students to be more comfortable in a classroom setting with you and to trust you and what you are instructing.

Set goals by familiarizing yourself with the course delivery and strategies

  2. Auditory- Listening
  3. Visual- Sending pictures, diagrams and illustrations
  4. Tactile- touch with eyes, hands and body coordination

These different student learning styles are helpful in assisting how you will lecture your class to get the information across.

Introducing yourself as an instructor is a helpful way to help students be less nervousness as well as giving them an index card to fill out with their personal info so you can get to know them bettter.

It is important to prepare your students by selecting goals, writing instructional objectives, making a syllabus with describing goals, setting up a presentation format and selecting content.

Learning from other instructors is helpful in your instruction. Be the instructor that set an example show up on time and ready with a story so students want to engage and be in your class
