I also get distracted by pauses - I think because they feel awkward.  And focusing isn't the thing I do best.

But one habit I don't have is "listening to reply."  I think I'm more aware of it b/c I've been on the receiving end (haven't we all?!) and you can just see the person formulating his reply without hearing the gist of what you're saying.  It's a good thing to avoid, since it can be obvious to the person trying to communicate something, and actually derails the whole communication process.

@vsanders : "My generation is not computer" - what generation is that? because I'm 60, and I much prefer computer-learning (classroom learning, OTOH, is utter torture).  I think it's great we have these courses presented in an online environment.  But what's really great is the use of computers in our schools - the increase in efficiency also means we have more time to spend assisting our students, which is the most important thing we do.

Glad it was "easy" for some of you.  I did not find it easy at all, and spent quite a bit of time on it.

Important info, though.

@BethKeener :

I agree - the course was also a good reminder that even a seemingly innocuous comment can be non-compliant, so we have to be careful how we express our pride in our schools, especially where superlatives are concerned.
