I learned important ways to keep students motivated are reinforcement of material through grades, rewards and praise, retention of material and transference of that material into real world experiences so that they can link the learning to long-term memory.

As a new teacher I learned a lot about the role of the teacher in this module.  REFOCUS is a highly useful acronym to help inventory your teaching and improve to produce the best outcomes.

One fact that I learned from this module was the importance of remembering names.  I have always been bad with names so I will implement visible name badges and use of students name repeatedly to help me remember names of my students.

This course helped me to understand how to motivate students, depending on how the student is self-motivated either intrinsically or extrinsically, to succeed as well as identify issues or barriers that prevent them from achieving their academic goals.
