It is important in an online format to keep active particpation by providing discussions. It is also important to provide feedback as students are not able to see the facial cues traditionally used in a classroom setting. I will use feedback to provide encouragement and constructive support for students to stay on task with the work. 

It is important to establish your authority and knowledge for students. It is also important to establish a relationship with students. A good way to get to know students is to have one of their first assignments to be a short biography. It is also good to send personal messages to each student to begin to build that relationship. I will contact each student individually to maintain our relationship. 

It is important to know the platform in which content will be delivered. When you know the content then you have the tools to work with. Students also feel more confident in their learning when they know someone is out there to help them with not only content, but the platform. Students are more likely to be successful when they view that someone is there with them. I will work to encourage my students and let them know I am here to help them be successful.
