It is important to research the pros and cons of different forms of communication. There are many different ways to communicate with students.

It is important to convey the structure and time required for online courses. Often times the online course may take the same or even more time then a face to face course. The structure is important for the class ro run well.

Feedback is important for students to know where they are and how they are doing. It is also important for teachers to use all their knowledge of the students for evaluation.

Communication and organization are important when teaching online. Students need to have clear communication and understand how to communicate back. Organization is reqired to help the class run smoothly.

There are a variety of technology tools available for instructors to use. It is important to to access the tools being used and to identify the purpose for the tool in the learning process.

There needs to be multiple ways to evaluate students. This allows us to know what a student knows and a clear picture of what they need support with.

It is very important to give feedback to students. It is best to give immediate feedback like in an assessment when a student gets a question wrong giving the explaniation in the test for what the correct answer is. Verbal feedback is important and can be done in video, verbal chat, or phone calls. This will allow for some human contact and build the relationship.

Scaffolding is important to build on prior knowledge. STudents learn best when they have a base to grow from and are given help along the way in the form of scaffolding. I will work to scaffold content for students as they are learning.

Being consistent is important down to the font size. Students need to know that it is the same format throughout the course.

Just as in an inperson class there are different types of students in the online courses. Students that are disruptive or cause problems need to be dealt with by referring them to course guidelines and policies.
