It is important that we engage our students to be active learners. They will only get out of it what they are willing to put into it. We need to make sure they understand that some tasks may take longer than others, so they need to prepare and not procrastinate.

Using different forms of communication is going to be essential in our job. We also need to make sure our students are capable of using multiple forms of communication and technology to do better throughout their learning experience.

Communication is the key to helping both our students be successful and ourselves. 

I've learned that students all learn in different ways, and we need to make sure as the instructors of online classes that students who are not traditional learners do not fall behind just because they do not fit the norm.

I think one way I can help to prevent this is make sure my lesson plans include things such as videos and diagrams and activities to help those who need to be a little more hands on or need visual or audio aids to help them learn the materials.
