I find the descriptions to be very accurate. I am a generation X and grew up in a school that got their first computer lab my junior year. Internet was slow and the computers were basically for typing papers. We didn't do much research at this point. I was also a latch key kid and felt a disconnect through my single parent household. However, interestingly enough, the family values were still instilled upon me.

While this training was informative, I did find myself having to read over sections a few times to be sure I understood it correctly.  And I really wish this was a face to face course.  I have so many questions that would have led to great discussion.  The forums, unfortunelty, are a bit slow to keep a continuous conversation going.

I loved the info in the course...all mostly new to me.  I feel I can better inform my students of various things now.  I'm happy this was open to me :)

I know some schools that have gone into high schools, talked to students, and then friend requested them on Facebook through an institution account. There seems to be no pressure of recruiting once the request is confirmed, but to me this is "indirectly" soliciting students. What is your view on this?

Wow! After going through module 1, I was actually more in awe of what my school does. Being an adjunct professor, I never really considered these "behind the scenes" issues that come up. I don't always like being an adjunct, because no matter how great the communication is, I still feel a bit "out of the loop". I definitely have great communication going on with other faculty, but I'm starting to really realize the importance of having that one or two people to keep me up to date. What is your suggestion to make sure one is always up to… >>>
