I agree with finding common ground with students. Instructors can also greet students as they enter class, maintain eye contact when speaking to them, include all students, if a student is always alone, select partner activites, share success stories about students who are now graduates. Lets not forget to treat everyone the same. Students enrolled in class to have a better life and career.

Yes, excellent! I learned the correct way to answer the question concerning transferring of credits. Additionally, it was great to hear that students should be informed of the expectations on the first day of class. I will also reiterate the policies, grading and attendance requirements (that are already in the handbook) and have the students to date and  sign their name.

I agree with the check off system. It can also be beneficial in lab class room settings. State boards also require deadlines (chemical changing, making sure your instruments that have been properly sterilized are dated for safety reasons,etc.) Creating a check off due date can prevent a citation.

Its amazing how much an admission representatives know, not only about a particular program but the triad as well. I have heard some of the representatives speak with prospective students, about the program I teach (dental assisting) and they do a fantastic job!   

I believe that an instructor can not only learn from other instructors, but from student as well. When you have done your very best teach someone, listen and watch your student more closely. They can be very creative, even though you may have taught the skill, and the student didn't perform it just like your demonstration, the same result was achieved. (Doctors aren't all the same either). Other classmates can learn as well. 

After taking this couse its great to know that my campus is on track with all the safety dills and compliance mandates. Informative information.
