Watching for different learners and stepping in when needed to encourage participation OR limit participation by those monopolizing conversations and discussions is an important part of facilitation for online classes.

I appreciated the review from this model about the appropriate uses for asynchronous/synchronous discussion boards, and what material is appropriate as well.

Both the reminder to practice everything ahead of time - no matter how many times I have done it before - is good for me. Also the reference to short 10-15 minute lectures is good and will drive how I work through my lessons.

I appreciate the encouragement to introduce and get to know the students. I'll be joining cohorts in the middle of their education and this could help.

Assessing the environment constantly (before, during, and after lessons/class) is important. The suggestion to keep a notepad handy to make notes about needs is something I will likely do myself.

This module was a reminder that everything I do as an instructor - in and out of the classroom - is being watched. This also makes it exceedingly important to ensure my appearance and conduct at ALL times is appropriate and an effective model for my students.

This was a helpful module, and I appreciated the ideas for using videos or other methods to introduce myself and my credentials. Since my credentials are not always familiar to people, it makes sense to explain it.

I learned that everyone is different as a learner, but also that teachers are different, as well. Different methods can produce the objectives, and flexibility can be helpful.
