Instructors should be mindful that students come from various backgrounds and should facilitate their classrooms with activities that are inclusive.

It is helpful to know that even though the IEP is not used past high school, it can still be referred to to determine what helped before that may be helpful as the student navigates college.

Although TBI and PTSD have some similarities and differences, it is important to note that each one presents itself differently. 

The more that veterans can learn about things that they can apply in real life, the more engaged they will be.

Veterans have unique learning needs that instructors should be mindful of so that they can assist in providing them with resources to help transition to civilian life.

It is important to understand the various factors that lead to the development of PTSD and how it affects all ages. It is also important to be aware of how PTSD affects children versus adults.

Cultural sensitivity is important for instructors to know and understand. It entails being open-minded and willing to learn from others whose beliefs and values may differ from our own. 

Faculty should be supportive and provide a safe learning environment for ELL. In addition, it is important that they are aware of the institutions resources that are offered, so they can best assist the student in their learning journey. 

Comment on Alphonso Turner Jr.'s post: I agree, so I cannot imagine how much more they struggle with learning medical terminology when they begin nursing school. It's a difficult enough for some whose first language is English.

Brain-based teaching discusses how different parts part of the brain is used to learn. The facilitator should consider incorporating various learning activities and tools into the classroom to accommodate the various learning styles.
