This class has provided me with strategies to overcome the potential mistakes that new teachers make regardless of their environment.  This class reiterated it is important to model the behavior you want from your students in order to prepare them for the work place such as being on time for class and be prepared. It highlights the purpose of a syllabus and how it will be used and the importance of instituting a late policy and lastly, how to handle a verbal exchange with a student. As a newly hired adjunct instructor I was required to take cm 102. In this course learned more about policy and procedures that govern Post-Secondary Schools. My background is in Middle Grades Education. I did not realize how many different departments are necessary in order for the students, instructors and administrators to create and provide a positive learning environment the checks and balances for placement test, financial aid and business department are similar to the checks and balances of the judicial, legislative and executive branches.
