Soneka, I think those are good ideas. Depending on the subject, I require my students to interview experts in the subject area. Dr. Moody Crews

Rhonda, Have you thought about bringing this up as a class discussion with your students. Just simply say, "you tell me that you want interactive projects but yet you don't like it when I assign them. Maybe what you're thinking of as interactive projects and what they are thinking of are two different things. This would at least help you to understand where they are coming from. Dr. Moody Crews

Rhonda, I do understand the concern. I'm betting it's not because they are scared to voice their opinions - even though this may certainly be the case with some students. I'm betting it is the fact that they have not read and are not prepared to voice their opinions. Think about what what you can do as an instructor to encourage student to read and prepare for class. If they know they have to, they will. Dr. Moody Crews

Soneka, These are very good points. One point that I would argue is the "home life" as a barrier specifically for the flipped classroom. I do believe that home life is a barrier for education in general; however, I don't know if it really makes any difference if it is the review of material prior to class or homework after class. I think the same problem will exist. Dr. Moody Crews

Angela, You are absolutely correct that without administrations support, nothing will happen. Also, starting off slow is not such a bad idea. This gives the instructor time to make sure they are prepared to assist their students. Dr. Moody Crews
